An empty wall + the need for some storage in our bedroom = a long search for a simple piece of furniture.
We knew we didn't want (or need) a bulky dresser or armoire, and after living with the open space for a long time, we were sure we wanted something low profile and minimal. This Saturday, we took the plunge and brought home the Torsby...
Intended for use in a dining room, it was the closest thing we could find to what we were envisioning and we are happy with it in the space.
The super shiny finish suits our high gloss white walls and the legs keep things looking airy and uncluttered.
We are unsure about how well it would stand up to daily wear and tear, but as storage that we'll only have to access now and then in the bedroom, it should work out fine.
We haven't decided whether we will hang the painting above the sideboard (that's why it's leaning in the photo...one decision at a time).
The Sunday morning assembly took some time - with the sliding doors, it was a slightly more complex job than the average IKEA project. But no complaints here - we think of IKEA assembly as grown up LEGO... putting it together is half the fun.
Torsby Sideboard, $299., available at IKEA.
