We realize that not everyone (or anyone?) has 7 million dollars to throw at a fixer-upper historic castle these days, but … well, we can look can’t we? The 15 bedroom, 5.5 bath castle was built in the mid-1800s by Joseph Hazard and while it surely costs a small fortune just to maintain, we just can’t help getting our Hogwarts fantasy on.

The manse could easily pass for a convent or rambler of a church. It really is a looker, but notice the many small trees/shrubbery poking out of the tower's mortared cracks?

I hope however buys it is prepared to not cut corners on repair...

Oooooh . . . the possibilities! I'm having fantasies about opening a hotel here. If only I had several million dollars.

Paul . . . as with any extremely old place, it will be expected to have some major repairs to take on. A place like this? SO worth it.

taritac . . a hotel (or even upscale B&B) would be a delight in a place like this.

Though part of me would want to be horribly, horridly selfish and not let anyone come stay. Only part though. :)

I live near this place and it's amazing in person too. My mother always jokes that she's storing her pennies to buy the place.

It is stunning. Will the realtor throw in a case of Narragansett Ale? If so, I'm in!
