Design trends often have a trickle-down effect and sometimes they trickle right down into children's rooms. Organizing books by cover color is a trend we've seen plenty of, but this is our first time spotting it in a kid's room.
The room belongs to a little boy in Finland whose mom, Kajsa, tells us the books didn't stay in that order for very long! But, hey, it's always fun to try new things.
We noticed that Kajsa has a lovely Etsy shop, Syko, where she sells small art quilts, pillow covers, small pouches and more - worth a visit!

I did this with my daughter's old Dr. Seuss books (a hand-me-down from her Daddy's childhood!) quite a while ago and it's so visually pleasing to see a rainbow of reading material.
Reading rainbow! Butterfly in the sky...
I do this with my cookbooks. Not sure why I never thought to do it with the kids' books. Great idea.
I do this with the clothes in my closet :)
Hey, see that little yellow house with a red roof on the top of the bookshelf? I have that in blue (bought from Land of Nod). I've seen it in blue at Oliebollen too. Anyone know where you can get that yellow one? So cute!
i have enough fun trying to keep our enormous children's book collection all facing the same direction. :)
Where can I get that dinosaur print above the bed?
