Look! Ornate Floor Lamps

Our living room is pretty much a room full of moderate, comfortable pieces that relies heavily on bright throw pillows. It's cozy, familiar, but sometimes it feels like we're lacking some drama. Here's one solution that we're contemplating: large, sculptural floor lamps to frame the main sofa. Anyone have any other suggestions on how to add a little glamour to a room?

In europe Kartell edits a similaer lamp by the italian designer Ferrucio Laviani, called bourgie. Its based on a 17th century baroque candlestick and reproduced in plastic : I own the transparent version which in my opinion is the nicest for the light it gives. It has three different heights than can be adjusted so you can place it on the floor or on a table. I really love it.
It also exists in black, and gold and silver (although I find the latter a bit kitschy).

It also isn't that expensive for a designer piece, I paid mine 130 euros.

Glamour for me equals:

Bold & dark wall colors - Never white or beige!
Wide ceiling & base mouldings.
Long, low & deep sectional sofas
High-backed chairs
Long credenzas
Dark Polished Wood
Round tables.
Tall lamps with taller lampshades - on dimmers.
Identical Twins (Chairs, sofas, tables, dressers, lamps, etc.)
Low beds made up with solid white/pastel sheets, an abundance of pillows that you can sleep on and tall upholstered headboards
Floor-to-ceiling draperies
Accessories that sparkle
Personal photographs in silver frames.
Oversized artwork in simple frames and small artwork in ornate/gilded frames.
Large mirrors.
Room-sized graphic-patterned or flokati wool carpets
Wall-to-wall / floor-to-ceiling bookcases
Lacquer or ceramic boxes filled with premium chocolates or jewelry.
A drawer for remote controls and To-Go menus.
Monograms
Cloth Napkins
Velvet
Fur (whether it be real as in lambskins, or faux)
Large fluffy white towels.
Wooden hangers.
Extra drawers.

that floor lamp is scary!

Glam to me is a rug that makes your feet feel fantastic. The kind that makes you want to take your shoes off and sigh. Or a ridiculously large mirror that reflects something powerful: an awesome art splurge, a window to the world or a wall of black framed portraits. Glam is lighting that can be dimmed and a reason to dim them.

Sectional sofas say suburban rec room to me, but whatever.

I think proportion makes a room glamourous--a huge ottoman, a huge mirror, and a lot of whatever--pillows, toile, birch logs in a copper bin. Proportion and good lighting.

I think the large Fortuny tripod lights are the most glamorous, Old Hollywood lighting choice, but at 5K from DWR, it's just not in my budget to be that glamorous.
