While we were busy doing our taxes this morning, we got inspired (yes, during taxes!) while in the middle of calculating our home office write off. Right now, the office is painted a lovely but boring shade of white (Benjamin Moore Swiss Coffee), and we're looking for inspiration for paint colors to kickstart our office revamp. Suggestions?

Apple Green w/ Orangey-Red Curtains & Chairs
(In Feng Shui, Green symbolizes Money and Red Symbolizes Fame and Success - two things you definately want in a home office!)
Great idea. If you are into color psychology, it depends what you want to emphasize. Off the top of my head...
green - soothing, movement forward, growth
blue - calm, concentration, focus
pink - warmth, compassion, kindness, fun
red - enjoyment, passion, intensity
orange - sociability
yellow - optimism, activity
purple - calm, intuition
And of course the shades that you use will make a big difference as well.
In general from what I've read, the warmer colors are not so good for concentration... it might be better to choose a relatively cool color, and then use a complementary warm colors on furniture and focal points and whatnot. I would say likewise for light/deep shades... use lighter shades on the walls, and deeper shades on furniture and focal points. The above photo is a good example of this, with pink on the walls and a red chair... imagine trying to concentrate in an office where those colors were reversed!

Does anyone know where that great rug is from?
I'm almost positive that the rug is from Urban Outfitters, although I'm not sure if they sell that particular one anymore. They are less like a rug though, and more like a cotton mat. Hope this helps!
Colours don't do it for me.
I had to smile when I read this post, I used to clean my room without fail the night before exams. Anything to be distracted in this case from doing taxes :P Choose a color you can live with and that inspires you :)
