There's big, and then there's bigger. If you thought that 65" or even 85" would be the biggest, you would be wrong. Panasonic has just come out with their 150" plasma screen. Yes, that's one hundred and fifty inches. Panasonic already makes a 103" HDTV. It's not surprising that they decided that 103 inches weren't big enough.

The 150-inch plasma TV is still a prototype. The HDTV is actually taller than most people and uses more energy than your washer and dryer combined. It needs to be moved around on a forklift. Usual logistics don't really apply here.

Still, it looks quite impressive. Who hasn't dreamed of having a TV taking up a full wall? This concept is popular in science-fiction, and Panasonic is set to make it a reality in the near future. We can envision a media room transformed with something of this size, especially if it takes up an entire wall.

Incredibly, Panasonic will begin selling the 150-inch plasma sometime next year. Our guess that it will be for probably as much as twice the price of the 103-inch plasma, which retails at $70,000. This will most probably be used for corporate functions. Still, it's an awesome sight to behold, when a whole wall can become a screen.

It's most probably a glimpse into the future of HDTVs. As time goes by, the technology will become more affordable. It's with advances such as these that the technology evolves.
