We're not sure what these are exactly, but we're strangely drawn to 'em. They look like stair pillows, or maybe a crafty storage solution to stow away slippers? Either way, we love the texture and color that these add to a set of all-white stairs, like this one.

Awesome! just like the vinyl on canvas' floormats; pretty DANGEROUS!
I think they are doorstops. Padded bricks covered with knitted or crocheted covers. Dangerous on the stairs for sure.
Um the fabric is admittedly cool. On second look it might be some sort of knitted or crocheted cover, which is also cool.
But what are they wrapped around? Something lightweight like foam? In which case i can see myself stepping onto one and sailing off that step to tumble down the rest.
Alternatively, they're wrapped around something heavy, like wood or a brick that I would inevitably stub my toe on, hop around in pain and then fall down the stairs.
The color and texture are great, but they'd also be great as a wall-hanging or covering an ottoman or as sofa pillows. Good color and texture aren't an excuse for silly, dangerous ideas.
Padded doorstops by snowconejones sounds like a really good idea! I stub my feet on stuff like that all the time.
pillows?? those aren't pillows!!!
(did anyone see planes trains and automobiles?)
Well, they'll come in handy if you plan on falling down the stairs a lot.
(Yes, I got the reference, gretchen, lol..... 8^D )
I'm always sitting on the stairs to put my shoes on and wouldn't mind a cushion (although I don't really *need* one).
I love a good planes, trains and automobiles reference Gretchen - still miss John Candy.
They are knitted. In seed stitch. (I'm such a knitting nerd!)
It makes me think of "The Death of Vishnu" by Manil Suri
The main character lives in the stairwell of an apartment building in India, running errands for the residents. Nice that someone's given him something comfortable to sit on.
