It's always interesting when people from out of town blog local places.
Portland's Housemartin walked into Ici in Berkeley. She noticed "the sugary aqua blue on the walls, to the soft wood tones, to the perfectly tied pink bows on the bags stacked in perfect pyramids atop vintage inspired cake plates. . ."
Being design-obsessed, what did we immediately notice? The Prouve Potence Lamps.

Lighten up, Boomer. The lamps are beautiful---the form is graceful, the ornamentation has been stripped away, the light is sufficient. I'm also interested in Mr Gray Hoodie.
I agree with krister, the lights are nice, simple and sophisticated. A bare blub can be quite sexy in the right application. Though I do like the light, I am not so sure it is appropriate in this particular setting.
This really is such a sweet (no pun intended) space -- there was such an attention to detail int he design. I love the lightling, and have to say it looks great at all times of day, just like a big scoop of blood orange ice cream. Bonus points for the fact that every container and utensil is 100% recyclable.
Ici is the best.
I like the simplicity of the design and the elegance of the lamp's long span, but I'm not a fan of the bare bulb either, boomer. Also something to consider is the move toward CFLs, which may become state law. Can all the fans of this lamp picture it with a spiral bulb?
That said, I do like the decor of Ici and the lamps work well in the space.
