We had dinner last night at Palihouse, a new boutique hotel in West Hollywood. We loved the vintage decor of the lobby and main room, The Hall. Aside from the beautiful mosaic tile flooring and the unique side tables (apple crates turned upright with a few vintage books stacked on top and literately belted together), we notice the pushpin art gallery on one of the cork walls.
We've seen this idea interpreted in a contained way on inspiration boards but haven't seen a gallery featured this way and it worked. If you are are looking for an interesting, eclectic and unusual way to display art, photos or images - this could work for you! It's creative yet controlled and offers an easy way to change out images whenever you feel like it! Also since the wall was layered in cork, the extra push pin marks wouldn't be noticed.
Palihouse is also home to the very neat photo walls in their hotel rooms that Apartment Therapy has posted about before.
