As champions of living small, we're always on the lookout for exemplary models of diminutive homes. So imagine our glee when we saw this little spot in the Mission...
If you look down while walking along Albion, you might see this tiny doorway located on the side of a building. We love the attention to detail put into the whimsical art installation, and the surprising location... though really, it would probably be a bit of a surprise anywhere.

Oh! The gas meter is tiny, too! I was really confused for a bit, it looked so real. Very cool.
it's a faerie house.
an urban one.
Urban Faerie...That's hillarious
They're all around Ann Arbor...

Well, how clever is that? I love the concept.
robinette, thank you for the link! It appears the faries came to Ann Arbor after i left MI... too bad.
When my parents became grandparents my dad built a little fairy door and my mom painted it and put it up on the side of their house. It has added on to become a whole little fairy garden with a bench and fence and other miniature house "stuff." Whenever my niece Maggie goes over she always runs to look at the fairy garden to see if anything has changed.
My Library plans to have a faerie house project this summer for families... there are a bunch of books on the subject for inspiration. I'd put one inside my house, but my house bunnies would munch on it.
Okay, now I've seen everything.
I am completely enchanted by city fairies. You never know where they will turn up.
It's an installation for a local ARG.
