Friends of ours are having a party this weekend to celebrate their out-of-state wedding last week. And had we thought ahead, we would've ordered a few of these for our recycle-minded, wine-and-cheese-loving newlywed buddies.
Here is just another example of what reused wine bottles can do for us—beyond serving as a vessel for our personal favorite spirits. From plant nannies to shelving, they serve a myriad purposes Jump below for more details and links. We'd seen pressed beer bottles like these (and have one that hangs on a wall at home), but never thought of what the bigger, wine-sized version would be good for. These platters are made by sending wine bottles through an 8-hour process.
We would happily serve finger foods on these, or set one on the stove to serve as a spoon rest. The wire hook on the end would make them easy to hang on a wall or in a window to catch light.
