We had the pleasure of attending a baby shower brunch on Sunday. Good things: it was wonderful to spend time with the proud mama and her sweet new son, the weather was glorious, the brunch was delicious (frittata! lemon cake!) and the surroundings - idyllic.
One tiny detail was so smart and pretty, we just had to step out of guest mode and put on our editor's hat - we snapped a few photos of our hostess Gioia's ingenuity...she used saris as table linens.
Colorful, light, summery and reminiscent of French linens from Provence, these bright saris were a perfect look for the backyard gathering.
They also are practical, working equally well on the round and rectangular tables and finally, they are washable, a very good thing when it comes to table cloths.
(Thanks, Gioia!)

Rachel Ashwell used to do that on the Shabby Chic show all the time. Those are beautiful!
P.S. I've never really thought of any kind of shower as a pleasure. More like several hours of my life I'll never get back.
