Inspiration, for me, always comes from seeing how other people live. Last month I saw this coffee table at Tina's house and liked it so much, I took a pic. I've been looking for a coffee table for our living room for over a year now, and had a hard time finding one. With a 2 1/2 year old and a small space, I wanted something that was minimal, soft around the edges with a natural texture. I also wanted something grown-up at the same time. This table is almost perfect, so I thought I'd pass it on...
The Scando Table is a follow up design by Eric Pfeiffer to his ubiquitous Mag Table, which is a smaller side table that also flips into a laptop desk. Manufactured by Offi, the Scando comes in four finishes, birch, oak, walnut and white ($499-599). They describe it thusly:
"The design of the Scando Table was inspired by both Japanese living and long hours of observing how children relate to the floor in their daily activities."
