We have posted about plates hung on walls before but Katie’s sculptural positioning of them in her kitchen deserves some recognition.
A grouping of plates on a wall can be so much more interesting than a framed work. This combination is similar to the grouping seen in Rome Service Home that we posted about back in August. With Katie’s great patterns and colors, this free flowing form looks more like artwork then dinnerware.

very good idea! usually I hate plates on a wall, but this time it's very decorative. Your plates seems to fly.... it's fresh.
This is lovely. I have hell hanging larger odd sized plates. The springs just don't hold up on the metal holders. Any tips?
I watched an HGTV show where they were desparately trying to sell someone's home, and they GLUED many plates to the stairwell walls. I would hate to have to clean up that mess.
I'm sorry to say that but they look tacky to me .There're things I can never change my mind about no matter what:Artificial plants, silk flowers and plates on the wall .
This looks similar to the format of the plate sculpture sold at Pier 1 Imports.
It's a nice start. Maybe if there were more, or the grouping was on a smaller wall, or hung lower? I dunno, but it's not looking finished yet.
I love this! And the Ikea curtain is super cute, too. Lovely!
I've used "Adhesive Plate Hangers" purchased from the Container Store. I was skeptical. So far so good. No plates have fallen.

I like the plates, and I think they "hang together" very well, because they do look related, and yet texturally complex as a whole. This person should be quite proud.
The plate format, with layers and motion, was done in a Pottery Barn catalog several issues back. (The combination of wall and plate colors, tho, is cool!)
But where do you find plate hangers? Any ideas?
I was thinking of doing a wall display with ceramic tiles I've collected. Is there somewhere I can order springy wire plate or tile hangers online?
Thanks by the way for the inspiration provided by this overlapping display.
ktg -- interesting points. what amazes me is that people are able to point out ikea items AND name them. aren't there like a billion items in the ikea store? do people study the catalog? and how do you remember those difficult names?
Pistachio, there are so many and the names so different than the 'norm', I don't even know how they could Google the names just for proper spelling.
