Our good friends over at Craft recently blogged about Etsy seller recycledideas' amazing handmade embossed cards for their unique seed-embedded feature. The "Scraped From the Barrel" collection are handmade paper oak leaf cards embedded with lavender seeds that can be coaxed to germinate. A beautiful idea with beautiful results.

These are awesome! I made a big stack of seeded thank you notes for my birthday party guests last year with instructions to rip the paper up and plant the bits. It works just like seed tape.
how long can seeds last before being coaxed to grow? i've got many seeds i'd love to try this with but i'm afraid they may be too old. they're from last season. i've kept them in their original packaging, though.
If you're too lazy to make these yourself and too cheap to buy them, there are seed cards available at the "green" BP gas station at Robertson and Olympic.
