We were cruising the summer sales over at Pier One yesterday when we spotted a shockingly dead-on Seletti Glass bottle knock-off hanging out with some world-beat style dinnerware. You guys didn't seem to love the design in its original form (or for the original price...), so what's the verdict on the knock-off (at the knock-off price)? Any better?
You know how much we love to stir the fires of the perpetual "original vs. knock-off" debate....so have at it!

I still don't get it - Why would anyone choose to have a glass bottle that looks like a plastic bottle?
I don't know if the original vs knockoff applies here, since the original Seletti is a glass copy of a $0.25 plastic bottle. Still...I don't get the point. All of them still look like plastic bottles, and plastic bottles don't look nice.
i have the original, its cool. Used it at work. it was large so I didnt have to to the faucet so often. Since I'm no longer drinking out of plastic this was a good option----much larger than my klean kanteen.
I agree.... Who wants an expensive (or $15) version of a plastic bottle?
i actually love this and would much rather see this glass bottle sitting on my kitchen counter than a brita pitcher, which is what i currently have.
i love the idea of taking something ordinary and disposable that goes unnoticed in our everyday life, and using it as a design element. like the ceramic NY coffee cups at moma:

or the glass cups at park life:

i think it's genius and it highlights that even mundane things possess beauty.
What a great bottle for sink-side dish soap! With pour top, it would certainly look smarter than most detergent bottles people keep out on their kitchen counter.
One could even use it for an olive oil bottle and put peppers, rosemary sprigs, etc., into it for an appealing look. It may take a few oil bottles to fill it and a topper to fit, but still another option.
If you like the concept, I think you should buy the original. For the difference in price it's better to have the peace of mind of supporting the original designer.
I think the bottle is pretty but would find it difficult to clean.
