We bought this completely blah table at Alameda a few months back because it was very cheap and we needed something to put all our stuff on. It's been clashing with our room ever since, and finally, spurred by our recent post on making time for your home, we decided to do something about it - check out the finished product after the jump.
We also lined the drawer using some paper purchased at Paper Source and a roll of double-sided tape.
But after coming home from Anthropologie empty-handed, we still need to find a knob. Any suggestions? We're thinking maybe a little knot or a simple tassel (does such a thing exist?).

Perhaps something clear/crystal with a little nubbin' or gold/silver accent in the middle?
P.S. I can't believe you came home empty-handed from Anthropologie after looking for hardware! You could try a place that's a little more generic (but also with more variety) such as Lowe's.
what about a loop of twine? get a semi-thick piece, and bend in half... leave the loop out and tie a knot on the inside.
I agree with burpchick!!! I can not come out of anthro without hardware...they have the most incredible items!
oh, and the table looks great:)
My first thought was also something jewel-y, like crystal. If you want fabric in a knot, how about a frog closure?

try urban ore in berkeley? they have lots of hardware and you could continue the reuse idea.
how about a twig pull? very easy diy. find piece of wood of interest and thickness to hold screw or tapping anchor. pre-drill. assemble.
you can just make a tassle or pom-pom or fancy chinese knot from yarn or leather cord or hemp or plastic grocery bags and knot it through a washer on the inside.
How about a Chinese button knot? Chinese knotting is a hobby of mine and the button knot is a basic yet flexible design. I've made these simple knots into key chains, jewelry, rearview mirror decor, etc. You could use several different colored cords to match the room's color scheme, too. A simple glass knob would work.
I think a classic, glass knob would be perfect. A company called Abbot of England makes some that are simple to install and very inexpensive.

for the table........my first thought (in spite of your empty shopping hands)was a porcelain coral shaped pull that i saw at an anthropologie store.

oh, forgot to add: find a vintage button and "thread" it with flexible wire.....find another button with 2 or 4 holes, and place it on the inside of the drawer(over the drilled hole).
feed the "wire thread" of the outer, decorative button through the drilled hole, and then through the inside button's holes, and twist to keep it in place..........similar to the way a heavy coat's buttons are anchored with a plain button on the inside.
I just saw directions yesterday either on the domino website or in the Martha Stewart Living Magazine on how to tie a not for a knob. It would look cute! My favorite suggestion though is finding a simple glass ball-knob. Urban Ore is a great idea!
