Look! Skinny Laminx at Lotus Bleu

So yes, this is the second time this week we've posted about Lotus Bleu. But when a friend let us know that the Hayes Valley boutique is now carrying pillows and tea towels by South African designer Heather Moore, aka Skinny Laminx, we couldn't resist passing on the news. You can't buy these lovely linens anywhere else in the city...

Of course we've long admired the Skinny Laminx textiles in the blogosphere, but never in person, and they are as lovely as you might expect from all the hype. Linen and cotton towels and pillow covers are remarkably soft, and the beautiful silkscreened designs are elegantly simple. The pillows Lotus Bleu has in stock are patterned with animals inspired by South African cave paintings.

Lotus Bleu is also carrying yardage of Skinny Laminx fabrics, available for custom upholstery jobs (not sold by the yard). If you've got a chair or ottoman you'd like to re-do, Lotus Bleu will upholster it for you in Skinny Laminx. They've also got their own line of chairs in stock that can be covered in Skinny Laminx fabrics.

Another incentive, if you really need one: The tea towels are only $14, and the pillows are $38, a great price for a handmade 18"-square cushion of such good quality.

Check out Skinny Laminx online in her Etsy shop, and click over to Lotus Bleu for more information about the boutique.
