A few weeks ago I hosted a bridal shower and there were women and children of all ages in attendance. Although no one in this photo knew there was a camera near by, we still wanted to share this quick idea. It's super simple and brings a world of peace — have kids bring their own seat.

My cousin picked up this mini Eames Cosco child's seat and since then it has gone everywhere with them. I was elated to see that she brought it to the shower since all the kids gravitate towards it. They don't care so much about looks, but having a place to sit that's just their size without having to sit on a lap. Laps are only fun for awhile and way not cool when there are other kids around.

All the little ones took turns sitting in it when they weren't playing and in general it gave them a place of their own to exist without feeling lost — which usually turns to distressed crying.

Small lawn chairs or children's outdoor furniture are a great thing to toss in your trunk when headed to an event such as this (or call ahead and ask the host if they need you to bring them). They make any party or get together a little easier, especially if the host doesn't have much kid friendly seating.

My apologies to my family who had no idea they were having their picture taken. You should know by now that there's always a camera lurking somewhere!
