Here at Apartment Therapy we have much ado about the great indoors. But don't forget about first impressions. These homes on West 10th between 5th and 6th are some of the most welcoming building fronts in the city.
You've no doubt noticed the amazing weather, but this sunny block provides positive proof that spring has officially arrived. With lavender cascading from the rooftops and tulips practically bursting from the cracks in the sidewalks, it's like the snow never happened. But hurry, these views won't last long. Come take a look for yourself before the summer sun takes over.

Shaw's Original Fir...
There's nothing more beautiful than NYC in the spring, I've been walking around lately with my mouth agape. The lavender blooms here though are a wisteria vine in full bloom, snaking from the small patch of soil all the way to the roof. I love it when townhouse owners do this, so incredible, reminds me of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'. Is anyone else miserable with allergies this season? Seems worse than normal, I'm actually cleaning pollen from tables.
That is the most amazing wisteria I have ever seen.
Beautiful, I need a NYC fix. The tulips must be crazy now. They don't do great in our mild climate in San Francisco I think they need a good frost.
I love seeing pictures of NYC and knowing exactly where they were taken. I take a walk past that wisteria vine every year in the spring.
This is just the best! Why I love NYC so much.
I used to walk by that townhouse every day when I lived on 11th Street. I immediately knew where it was before reading the post. The pictures do not do it justice.
vab, I agree! I also used to walk past that townhouse daily. I always have it top of mind in the spring when walking around to see the NYC blooms. It's breathtaking.
Wish i could post a picture and we could have dueling wisteria vines! Two great examples in Kips Bay 'hood -- 30th Street and Lex and 32nd between 2nd and 3rd. Entire coverage of two brownstones that give the Village and anywhere else in NYC (but the Brooklyn Botanical Garden) a run for the money.
Two reasons I loved living in NYC......spring and fall. Thanks for making us extra happy today!
This was an impetus for a long walk this afternoon betwixt the stately brownstones of the upper west side, taking photos of the newly sprouted stoop gardens. My dog and I thank you ; )
Wow I can't believe the wisteria is out in NYC already. In London my wisteria only has a few green shoots growing on it.
Maxwell mentioned in his Cure post this week, that Paris is a few weeks behind New York in it's springtime. Seems London is too.
