We found this image on popofatticus' flickr photostream and were reminded how much we love holiday wreaths. They don't require a ton of space and are a great symbol of the holiday cheer. We rounded up six inspirational wreaths you can make at home to get your own place in the festive mood.

We were at our local Starbucks Coffee yesterday when we saw this yarn wreath. It's comprised mostly of balls of yarn with a few Christmas ornaments for added sparkle. We absolutely loved the simplicity of this festive wreath.

This holiday inspired wreath is a Ready Made magazine how-to using a styrofoam wreath and a slew of multipurpose zip ties.

How about taking vine wreath and wrapping it in LED lights. Because the LED lights will last from year to year it's a green alternative to some wreaths that only last for the length of the holiday season.

There are 6 steps for this Martha Stewart how-to wreath. The website claims it's surprisingly easy to make and quite sturdy (despite its delicate look).

We're not suggesting taking down traffic signs to make these reflective wreaths but we do think they're quite the inspiration. Think of alternative materials you can use in a similar fashion (the simpler the better).

This wreath has become a traditional offering over at Williams Sonoma. The wreath dries out over time and can be used for cooking year-round.
