I love it, but ever since I noticed that it looks like a sideways tush, I can't help but giggle.

I'll bet they hung it like that, to look like a "3", because a quarter-turn clockwise would make it look like a butt!

Thats a pretty smart idea. This reminds me of when my 8 year old son made a similar piece of art utilizing a 2' square piece of plywood, sheet rock screws and various colored rubber bands tensioned across the sheet rock screws.

i really like this....BUT when you turn your head to the side, you can truly appreciate all its ASSETS. (sorry, couldn't help it!) seriously, though, i think its really cool and i might just make one for over my bed. we've been contemplating a metal sculpture, but i can't seem to find one that isn't really $$ or horribly "tuscan" styled.

Really?? Is string art making a comeback??? In my opinion that was one of those decorating fads of the 60's that needed to die and stay dead...along with macrame plant hangers and American Revolution wall-paper.

P.S. I also agree that the above piece has a "butt-like" quality.

I have been contemplaing figuring out how to do this via computer but have not thought too hard on it yet but have done string art in the past and may try just that again, Have always loved the look of string art, plus it had that Spirograph feel to it.

I tried to see it as a fan. I really did. But it just screams FANNY.

I have been living in a world where too many women where pants that are too low cut, and are clearly going commando..... this is just simply my every-day view at the grocerystore. And I really wish they would just put on some panties and pull up their pants!!!

These things look pretty cool in this pic, but they were often translated poorly in every day design...

To the more bawdy I suppose other imagery does come to mind, but my inspiration truly was a cardioid! A streak of sci-fi nerdery helped (ex. Battlestar Galactica badge)

Sofa in front of the mantel because a more spiritual guest once insisted that facing a black porlet, even if obscured (mantel is planked-over), is inauspicious.

Slice of wood was from a flea market; refinished; hairpin legs off the internets.

Ha! Glad that I am not the only one to see a limaçon (cardioid). And ditto on the couch blocking what I imagine to be a beautiful fireplace.

I think this is very decorative.
