Our mother collects things. Whenever we see her, she always has a small piles of paper and clippings to share with us - the alumni newsletter that still comes to her house, a card from an old family friend, as well as neat things she's seen that she would like to make or find. She's a natural blogger.

This last weekend (repeat post from 2005, so it wasn't really last weekend) she showed us these pics that she took of some unique outdoor chairs from someone's house in Vermont. The pics show all the different angles and would allow you to copy them if you wanted to. We thought they were really nice and told her that we would blog them right here, so that she could always find the pictures when she needed them.

They look like a rustic version of Rietveld's red and blue chair.
That's a Wave Hill chair. Plans for making the chairs were in Fine Gardening a few years ago. You can see them in one of the images on this page - http://www.wavehill.org/gardens/3_gardensin_Feb.html#
I love these chairs too! They are remarkably comfortable, although they don't look it. I first encountered them at Innisfree Garden in Millbrook, NY. (Great garden, if you ever want to visit!) They are called Innisfree chairs or sometimes Wave Hill chairs, and yes, they are patterned after the Rietveldt chair mentioned above. You can buy plans at the Wave Hill shop, or online at: http://www.wavehill.org/shop/WaveHillChairPlans.html
I'm planning to make some for my farm - which you can visit on our weblog at: http://www.villamir.blogspot.com
Blog on!
Love those chairs, too. Spent many hours in them at Wave Hill and they are so comfortable.
Hi,
I come from Greece where we don't have big gardens round our houses so I have never seen these chairs. They are great. Do you have any close photo to see how they are so that I will make one?
Thanks
I seems..... Me and my GF there ;)
They are Wave Hill, which indeed are a flexing of the Gerrit Rietveld chair of 1918. I have refined the Wave Hill Chair, and designed a foot rest and table. All are made from the finest cedar, etc. Travis
