Up above it all. In between ICFF show coverage, we took a little detour to NYC's famous ABC Carpet and Home. It was our first time visiting the store and we loved the many detailed displays throughout the many floors. One thing that caught our eye was this suspended plank...
I'm pretty sure I've seen a similar concept displayed at Anthroplogie in the past as well, but it's a nice space-adding solution and inspiration for a long and narrow dining table. It could also be a fun idea for outdoor entertaining if you have a covered patio. Has anyone tried this before?

very cool! hadn't thought of this as a table, but would be so neat.
It's a pretty clever idea--but wouldn't the plank block a diner's view?
Suspending the plank is intriguing... i wonder, though, if more people would benefit from an "H" or "[" shaped 'bench' that could sit on the table... cut to your own table size and able to stand over side dishes... maybe even with a clear acrylic/glass insert so you could see the dishes beneath... throw some handles on that puppy and you can have a serving tray that sits over your full table...
