Target is preparing to open four pop-up shops in Manhattan! For four days, the Bullseye Bodegas will transform a small storefront space in four Manhattan neighborhoods into a mini-Target touting the retailer's partnerships with designers in their home, fashion, accessories and beauty lines of products. The storefront above is on the corner of Bowery and 2nd Street...

Despite some subway posters listing the opening dates as September 11-14, we have confirmed that the official dates are September 12-15, as listed on the Bullseye Bodega site at Target.com.
We'll bring you more information next week, after we get a sneak peek inside one of the bodegas!

Hooray!
Fun, but I'm not looking forward to the mobs of people. When is Manhattan gonna get a real Target?
@ kimdog--very shortly. there are a number of big boxes under construction up in east harlem, just off the FDR. but i guarantee you, there will be serious mobs there too.
i'm sure manhattan will have the same aggravating stock issues as the outer boroughs.
Speaking as a happy near-Target dweller, I'm the first to recognize that all I thought about how congested the Fl@bush junction would be with the new Targee was all a myth. When I think about it, 23rd St. in NYC isn't more crowded with the Home Depot there (or as I call it, Home Despot). And any "mobs" of people that can be feared would probably come from places w/o a targee, which right now... is really just Manhattan.
