The shower of the future is what we're calling My Bath's Rainforest 78 Steam Shower. Heated 16 jet whirlpool bathtub featuring 8.4 inch LCD TV, hands free telephone, FM radio with audio frequency input, and waterfall inlet--yeah, we can dig that. More pics and info after the jump!
If this were our shower, we'd expect that we wouldn't watch TV all the time (but it would be a fun way to multitask while catching up on the news and showering).
Temperature control, foot massage and steam room are just a few of the functions to choose from.
While "The Coolest Shower in America" isn't in our budget we'd definitely like to give it a spin. Plus, it cleans itself with the Ozone Sterilization System (which kills bacteria and germs after each use).
AT readers--what's the coolest shower you've experienced (16 jets, a phone, flat-screen TV)?

great spend more time in the shower, waste water when we are having and will have serious water issues.
great if you are obese and can't fit into a normal shower, also great if you feel you are not doing your American duty by using enough plastic, electricity, or water.
Agreed. This is ugly in so many ways--makes me cringe.
What the hell. Nothing is better than a good old fashioned shower.
first of all, we've been in a drought for YEARS.
second, for some of us our only alone time/ relaxation comes when we are in the shower.
three, while it maybe a little unattractive- I wouldnt mind trying it out! Forget the TV though- i want quiet.
Gross.
Yikes. It looks like it would eat someone alive. Bad robot.
This is more of a gadget than anything else--it's not aesthetically pleasing & I think I would feel claustrophobic despite the size. I expect to see it in some "retro" 80's bachelor pads.
So when you get in and turn it on does it transport you to another shower in another galaxy?
ugh! let's give ourselves one more reason to leave the shower on a little too long... this is embarrassing. bad robot! bad designers! bad bad bad!
I can hear Tim Allen man-grunting.
Looks like the thing in Empire Strikes Back that Luke was placed in to recover after the attack of the ice monster--nerdy, I know.
More like Cheesiest Wasteful Technogeek-Gazillionaire shower in America - and as soon as one thing goes wrong with it, out it will be ripped and the entire acrylic, fibreglass and chrome-plated plastic mess will be tossed into the nearest landfill...
...Kohler made something fairly similar back in the late 70's and early 80s - but instead of flatscreen TV, it had an 8-track tape player (I don't expect many of them have survived intact either...)
My favorite showers are the mosaic-tiled circular rain showers in the Thermal-Spa of Holland America's Vista-Class ships: push one of 4 buttons in the wall and you get a different aroma-infused water.
Nonsense. The coolest shower is the Duravit Multifunctional Shower

If "coolest" and "gaudy monstrosity" now mean the same thing.
@Oneformybaby how does the fact that we've been in a drought for years make it acceptable to waste even more water?
Awwwwe, how cute! It's smiling! :D
That doesn't look relaxing at all...
Too much stuff going on there.
Yeah, that is the happiest, smiliest shower I've ever seen. It even has a button nose. I almost expect it to talk.
LOL, before reading all the comments I actually thought "how cool!", but now I feel guilty.
Totally awesome!
Love it.. Seems out from a sci-fi movie :)..
You know they could use it in the new Bond movie.
Good post..

anyone that buys this better have some water conservation plans in place
I've seen these things up close, and on top of their obvious ugliness, they are also ridiculously flimsy. The pricetag surely doesn't reflect the quality of craftsmanship -- an easy bake oven could withstand more abuse than this gadget. OK, off to look at prettier things...
But wait, it's not April 1st yet....
Really? A phone in the shower? Can't there be ONE place where we can get away from those things? It's bad enough that people regularly talk on the phone inside the stalls in public restrooms now.
The sterilization system sounds kind of cool, but I don't know if that's any better than frequent scrubbings and maybe using one of those $3/bottle shower sprays.
Well, ThainTiger, I am sure your happiness outweighs the conspicuous consumption issues any day. (Sorry, but obviously I find your attitude narcissistic at best.) (I have arthritis too, a five minute shower/shampoo suffices for me. Then nice warm blankets, cats on my lap, hot tea, and ibuprophen are soothing...)
On NPR this morning, the subject of water was being discussed (wastewater treatment, paying for water use, etc.) and one point they mentioned, if I understood correctly, is that by 2013 the whole country (or maybe it was the planet) will experience severwe water shortages if we don't manage our water resources much much better.
Y'all conserve water, I'm going to use your saved bits enjoying something like this steam thing! Same with the plastic. Keep your little "This is not a bag" bags and I'll savor my laser-injected earth-killing-plastic custom-molded giant super sauna/shower! Mmmmm.
I rarely find anything good on TV to watch anyway, I can't imagine being bored with TV AND in the tub. Music idea sounds really good though.
ThainTiger?
Any relation to John Thain, ex-CEO of Merrill Lynch who spent $1.2MM of company money to redecorate his office last year?
I guess you gotta spend that golden parachute money on something...
