I do this with my sectional in winter -
When it's too cold to sit on the leather, I cover the sofa w/ an Alpaca rug from Argentina...
...and I still have a few cheap round upholstered IKEA footstools around the place draped w/ sheepskins rather than slipcovers.
Thanks for the mention! I used a Mongolian lamb throw that I bought at HomeSense in Canada. Kind of like a Winners for furniture!

I did this with an old mid century ottoman I found on the side of a road. I used a cheap flotaki rug I found on amazon.com for $20. It's great!
Love it. Thank you !
i have this irrepressible urge to put big googly eyes and teeth on that furry chair. Raaahr!
In Austria they have a very strong sidewalk cafe´ culture- even through the snowy winters! The modern little metal chairs appear with sheepskin wools thrown over them - like the ones shown. They`re great butt warmers! Also, Austrian mommies use them in strollers (I had one!) - they are perfectly shaped to go around all of the seat belts. And much better than one of those sleeping-bag synthetic things. It can be washed with special conditioning shampoo, dried in the sun and re-fluffed with metal dog-brush. In-between annual deep cleans, all you need to do is put it out the window on a sunny day to "breathe".
@pazzaglia: thanks for the cleaning tips! I'm going to try the metal dog brush.
Love it! I used the zebra from Ikea on my own chair...

hmmm- I have a big bit of faux something or other (similar to the sheepskin texture though) that my MIL gave me. I've yet to find a project for it- and although it sheds a lot- this might just be its purpose!
AnnieStuart: HA! Me too! i keep on expecting it to talk to me, like on Pee-Wee's Playhouse.
AnnieStuart: If it was orange, it would look like the Weight Watchers "hunger monster."
@mmh1983: oh duuude, i am so totally going to make a hunger monster chair. And i'm gonna sit in it all day and eat cupcakes. Muahahaha!
@AnnieStuart : your post cracked me up! LOL
oh no
I want to pet it.
This was trendy in Europe a few years ago...
Perfect timing! I was trying to find a place to store the large white flokati that covers our bed in winter in our small NYC apartment. Instead of trying to stuff it into the back of the already too full (and only) closet, draped it over the Karim Rashid Oh Chair in the bedroom. Voila! Instant makeover.
Well, it's clear that none of YOU have allergies! Ha. Even looking at this makes my nose itch.
