O.K., we admit we're cheating just a bit when it comes to Escapes Month at AT. We haven't been to Nairobi's The Giraffe Manor. Yet.

The idea of a visit is intriguing. The hotel's modeled on a Scottish hunting lodge -- not our first choice of accommodation -- but how often do you have the chance to hang out with a resident here of giraffes? However, it does beg the question of how often they have to clean up giraffe drool on the furniture.

We think that we'd probably return home with a sense of relief. A catbox and dog hair pale in comparison.
