What happens when a visionary hotel owner and a group of architects collaborate to build an eco-friendly resort in the middle of the forest in northern Sweden? Treehotel— a resort that features some of the most incredible suites on the planet. We'd love to stay in the recently completed Mirrorcube, a 4x4x4 metre two-way mirror-covered and nearly invisible treehouse.
With a tree trunk running up the middle, the mirror glass exterior and plywood interior make for a sturdy and stunning space, while windows provide 360 degree views of the forest. The mirrors provide complete privacy and are treated with a film to prevent birds from colliding with the glass. There is room for two and the suite includes a large bed, a small kitchenette and bath, living room and rooftop terrace. There is also a 12-person tree sauna as part of the resort.
Treehotel is located in the boreal forest in Northern Sweden. The suites all are intended to bring people away from the cities and closer to nature and to provide them with a greater appreciation of the forest. The suites are designed specifically to have the lowest impact on the landscape and have even stopped snowmobile access to help preserve the natural forest. Rates are $409 - $592 US per night and can be booked through treehotel.
The Mirrorcube was designed by Tham & Videgard Architects.

So...how does one ascend into said treehouse?
I'm concerned that it could be a bird magnet, and not in a good way.
Yes, I also think this is a major collision course... They could glue big hunter bird silhouettes on it, that´s how birds are deterred at the transparent bus stops in Germany.
Hi, thanks for your comments.
The Mirrorcube is accessed by a rope ladder and rope bridge.
As for the birds, there is a film applied to the mirrors that birds can see, but we cannot, to prevent them from smashing into the house.
