Marrying our love for small space living with our obsession with camping is the Two Story Camping Car brought to you by small space enthusiasts--the Japanese! Check out this camper that 3 friends built to help them realize a lifelong dream of driving cross country (across Japan). They weren't carpenters or engineers but they were still able to build a camper with a pop-up second story that took them on their adventure:
The camper has all the amenities you would expect from a motor home: kitchen, bathroom, sleeping space, storage, etc. But we love the Japanese aesthetic. The interior is mainly wood, the storage is built in to the stairs that go up to the sleeping loft. And the sleeping loft itself is completely empty for a zen experience. Instead of being crammed in a bunk, the loft has skylights that let you sleep under the stars and an uncluttered atmosphere to give you peaceful sleep.
