Look! Upcycled Fabric Becomes a Handmade Towel Set

We finally took our own advice and whipped up a small craft project yesterday afternoon. The first warm, sunny day in months gave us motivation to clean, and in the process we found this cheery fabric. In a previous life, it had been a background on a tackboard and then a rough-hewn tablecloth. Now, it's adding to our paper towel-less lifestyle.

Using these simple directions for cloth napkins, we revved up our borrowed sewing machine. Even for a novice, these were a breeze to whip up.

We've already gone paper towel-less, but these are by far the towels and napkins we're most proud of. No longer will we have to sit at the dinner table wiping our faces with dish towels! We can't wait to upcycle more fabric.
