Whiteboards, whether adapted for use in the home or in the office, are a great tool for brainstorming, jotting down notes and keeping a daily score of the To-Do's, Have-Done's and "Please don't forget this." We love the way one Instructables user integrated a whiteboard into their home office...

If we had the freedom, we'd paint the walls in our rented studio with a whiteboard paint, kind of like the whiteboard walls in this conference room.

But since we can't, we're left with the task of adapting the idea for our smaller space. Pottery Barn includes whiteboards in their customizable Smart Technology Daily System, but you could also take a cue from this Instructables reader and use a whiteboard as your desktop.

They took a whiteboard and layered it with some plywood before resting the whole surface onto a sawed-in-half Ikea Lack Bookshelf (But you could easily use any of Ikea's cheap, pre-fab table legs).

The result is a desk that can be written on and erased with ease. Reminding us of doodling on dining tables covered in butcher paper, it's the perfect idea for jotting down phone numbers or directions while you're surfing the net.
