A while back during Odd Space Solutions month a lot of readers seemed curious about the concept of "Modern Victorian," seeing as so many of us find ourselves living in these beloved but curiously out-of-date structures. We've been on the lookout ever since for good examples, and just came across this house tour, published on HomePortfolio.com.
This is not Modernism in the way we think of it here in the US. It's Swedish Modernism, which is softer, and far less minimal.
But the Victorian proportions and architectural detailing are very much present in these rooms, and they're infused with freshness and energy from an amazing color and palette courtesy of Swedish textiles designer Svenskt Tenn. Check it out.
