We recently stumbled into Bobo, a trendy new restaurant int the West Village, to check out the decor. We found the upstairs roofdeck to be our favorite spot (we were only having drinks), but inside we admired the preternaturally aged decor (Bobo only opened recently), and particularly these chairs...

A beautiful set of antique chairs that the owners apparently brought from their own family home (they wanted the whole restaurant to feel like a home), we found them notable for how nicely the rattan back sets itself off elegantly against the black frame and adds a warm new texture to the room.
So, file these pics for the future style tray. These are chairs that we'd like to have copied immediately and which some enterprising designer should study closely. >> Bobonyc.com

I like them too... they have character.
It seems like a simple thing to copy the rattan backs, though. I have some chairs I'm tired of looking at. Maybe I'll wrap the backs in rattan.
or BURLAP. That would be cool.
I just saw a set of those at the Goodwill outlet (can you believe they have an outlet?) store. Super cheap but the woven back had some damage on a couple. I think the set of four was $15.00.
love the plates... (24 HR by Iitaala?)
LOVE Bobo. I had my birthday there last year, and while the food wasn't great (I heard it has significantly improved since then), the decor is unbelievable. Gorgeous.
