Yet another reason to drink your eight glasses of water a day: You can re-use the glass water bottles and make this fantastic light fixture. The recycled/DIY piece is part of the "Design Life Now: National Design Triennial 2006" exhibit at New York's Cooper-Hewitt Museum.
The VOS chandelier is on display along with ReadyMade: How to Make {Almost} Anything. The lamp is one of the projects included in Bay Area authors Shoshana Berger and Grace Hawthorne's book.
Unfortunately, no photos are allowed in the museum, so we don't have a shot of the actual exhibit. But here's a close-up of the bottles:

In case you haven't purchased the book yet, the Urbanite posted the instructions. But, in flipping through ReadyMade, we spotted so many other cool projects, we definitely think it's worth the purchase price.
(Psst: We also like the recycled Campari bottle chandelier that Mighty Girl blogged about yesterday.)

I'm curious about the folding table.
Love the chandelier...
And, in respose to LaDonna, the table looks like a vintage folding typing table. I have one that I dug out of my grandpa's garage. It works great in my office when I need a little more space to spread out a project. And it looks fantastic with my tanker desk and the industrial vibe I've got going on.
I also love it as pictured - as a standalone piece, though I had never envisioned using it that way. Would be great for a laptop or just for writing letters, paying bills, etc. provided you had storage elsewhere.
Yep - typing table. I've got one, too. Actually used it in an office about 8 years ago (with typewriter, for gov't forms in triplicate) until they renovated my space and actually put the forms on the computer, and they let me bring the table home. It's currently serving outdoor duty for setting drinks, etc., until I refinish it and decide where it can best be utilized inside.
