Look! Wine Cork Artwork

On a recent visit to a local winery, we spotted this creative reuse of old wine corks. Arranged in a woven pattern within a simple wooden frame, these corks made fitting artwork for the winery, but they'd also work well in a wine lover's home or kitchen.

The corks are arranged in pairs, which makes a rough square. Alternating the direction of every other one makes a checkerboard or woven pattern. We imagine these are probably simply glued to a backing in the frame. Seems it would be a pretty fun, simple DIY. And the task of saving up all of those corks doesn't sound half bad, either.
