We headed up to Mill Valley this weekend for hiking and German fun at the Tourist Club. The views were great, the bratwursts perfectly grilled, but our favorite part was the detailing on the balusters of the stairs.

The teal detailing offset the dark brown really well, but we especially liked that the inside width of the wood was painted bright red. Sometimes it's clever little touches like this that add character and interest to a space.

Watching Two & a Half Men last night I saw that they had the same deck rail style as shown above (minus the cool paint job). VERY interesting!
