Mix it up. Rather than framing more photos, how about borrowing this idea that we recently came across at the Hotel Vitale: Mount an image on to a stained block a wood. We like the depth that this presentation provides, as well as the organic feel of the wood.
We're not sure exactly how the hotel's artwork was created, but here's what we'd do:
- Have a 1-inch piece of wood cut to the same size as our photos.
- Stain the wood.
- Spray-mount an image to the top of each block.
- Hang it up and admire our new wall adornment.
Any other ideas?

after spray mounting the image, apply a protective layer. spray polyurethane or something similar. use a matte finish or a semi-gloss. it helps the piece look 'finished' and also will discourage the edges from peeling over time.
it'd be really nice if there was some kind of UV protection involved. anyone know of any product that would do?
