Like a lot of things that might draw stares in most places, yarn bombing has become almost commonplace in New York and I barely look twice anymore. Pipes, poles, bikes, benches - it's all fair game. But these are the first strollers I've seen.
Pictured above is one of four yarn-covered strollers currently inhabiting Jersey St., a short alley a half block from the Apartment Therapy offices in Soho. They've been there for a week or two and have withstood the recent rain fairly well. I couldn't tell what brand of stroller was underneath, but my guess is they're drugstore cheapie umbrella strollers.

Actually, that's not knit. That's crochet. Double crochet stitch or larger from the looks of it. Crochet has that distinctive 'ladder-like' look to it.
No one said it was knit. She said it was "yarn bombed."
i've seen these. there are three more strollers, one for each corner of that small alley space. very strange but beautiful

If you used something stronger than yarn, the kid could actually sit in it. A vintage store in my area sells these patio chairs from Mexico that are restrung with colorful cords and woven into a pattern. And they're affordable.
I must live in the boondocks of NYC... haven't seen any of this. Had no idea what yarn bombing was either. Hmm.
