- It feels peaceful, light and airy - and right before the sun goes down it gets the most amazing golden twilight. I love my little bunch of Cambodian marionette dolls hanging out on the sofa greeting me every morning. And I adore the view of the Manhattan skyline.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- Sleep with an open window, paint the floors white, use the empty space below the bed for storage, attach little bells to the curtains that can chime in the wind, add glow in the dark stars to the ceiling, put lavender oil on the radiator - get flowers and a cat.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- My apartment is too small to hold a good size desk so my bed basically is the place where I can spread out all my papers and projects. It also doubles as an ironing board by folding away the sheets and as a TV room as I watch everything I need on my computer. Additionally, I consistently break our "no-food in the bedroom rule" by indulging in an inappropriate amount of ice-cream in bed.

Another "Yay" for Astoria! Your bedroom is so airy with the white floors, textural with the tapestry and dark chest, and so bright - how nice having it at the front of the house so you get that much light. I have to admit the torn up sofa/cultural dolls creep me out a little - but I also know how much meaning they can hold so I totally understand.
And lavender oil on the radiator... that sounds SO relaxing. I'm going to try that :)

Love how relaxed and airy your room is. The white and tapestry works well. It would be even better if you'd recover that couch, or at least cover it with a blanket. The holes just don't work.

Love this room. The fabric above the bed is such a simple but effective way to bring together various elements of the room. The chest of drawers is so cool and bold to use in this mostly light room.

I think you've done a great job in this tiny space. I love your dresser - and the settee is beautiful. I would hang the marionettes but thats just me... The tapestry/blanket is a very pretty addition to your color scheme. Your curtains are really lovely too. Overall, a great balance. I'm going to FAVE!

I have seen this bedroom in person and I can tell you that although its beautiful in the photos, it looks even more beautiful in person. The talent of this individual is amazing. What she does with furniture is downright magic.
Fantastic Taste. Very Beautifully Contrasted With The Dark Dresser Chest and White Detailed Knobs. The High Ceilings and the Light Tan Wall Behind The Bed Gives A Soft But Beautiful Contrast To The Lovely White Floors and Ceiling and White Trim Borders. The Curtains With the Bells Must Give An Ethereal Sound When The Wind Blows. Nice And Airy Feel To the Room. Light Colored Night Stands With Dark Brown Stems On Lamps Coordinate And Accent So Nicely With The Dark Brown Dresser. Throw Pillows On Bed Harmonize With Tan and Black Tapestry Over Bed Which Picks Up The Color Of The Dresser. Love The Single Chair In-Between The Two Windows. I Have Seen This Room In Person And The Pictures Give It Real Justice But Not As Beautiful and Unique In Person. She Has A Real Gift For Decorating Besides Everything Else!
Forgot, Love The Unique Chandelier. She Has Chosen Things That Have That ABC Rhyme to it, all of it her own beautiful and Unique style.
Like some commenters, I like the peacefulness of this room the most. I am sure it is a place you must be looking forward to everyday after work in hectic New York City, an oasis. It definitely has a soothing effect (even visually). Love it !
