Table lamps can add so much to a room. While a lot of people often don't pay enough attention to how much impact they have — some of us really look forward to purchasing a new one.
Lamps can be a little pricey (unfortunately) but if you find one you really love — it's so worth it. Try to stay as simple and chic to avoid purchasing anything too trendy that would need to be replaced within just a few years (or even months).
Of course, if you find something you ultimately love — does it matter if it's on trend or not? I don't think so! The goal of decorating your home is to love each and every thing you bring into it — lamps included. Here are 5 lovely little lamps I adore:
• Perch Glass Lamp, $69.00 at West Elm
• Round Rope Lamp, $129.00 at West Elm
• Cleo Table Lamp, $319.00 at Crate and Barrel
• Green Line Table Lamp, $99.99 at CB2
• Orange Ochre Table Lamp, $106.19 at Overstock

Ron Marvin made me a lamp tramp. In the last year I've purchased 8 lamps, including the Red Line table lamps, above. I just became tired of never having enough light for the task...
I've been rehabbing lamps I find at Goodwill. They have a fab assortment of lampshades there too! My current projects are brass chandeliers and the spray paint technique, with Pantone's colors from the past few years. Let me tell you, Tangerince Tango is gonna be yummy! So much fun to spend $30 in mterials & an old fixture, and have a sexy, playful, modern beauty.
I love the variety of lamps chosen for the article. Here's one "for the books" about product exclusivity (not rehabbing): I purchased the tri-leg lamp (aka Cleo) at Horchow Collection because Howchow is known for unique items not available everywhere. Less than three years after they stopped carrying it, Crate and Barrel offered it to the world. The only difference in the two - the interior of the Horchow linen shade is lined with 50's-60's abstract ovals and "planet-like" shapes. I still love the lamp!
I was looking at that Green Line lamp at CB2 over last weekend. I think it might belong in my guest bedroom.
I agree with Cleogrrl, too, about rehabbing lamps. It's fun and very affordable.
