Low Loft Beds

We're always on the lookout for elegant solutions that keep the bed from becoming the focal point of a one-room apartment. Loft beds are an obvious fix, but if you aren't blessed with high ceilings, they can feel a bit coffin-like. However, as these examples show, even a minor change in elevation can have dramatic results.

Both of these homeowners used stairs and partitions to create the feeling of separation without sacrificing light or headroom. And, unlike murphy beds, low-loft enclosures don't need to be assembled and disassembled on a daily basis.
