Q: I recently purchased my son a vintage Cosco Eames-era chair and am looking for a small table to go with it. The problem is, the chair is not standard height and sits pretty low to the ground. So I'm looking for a small table, no taller than 15 inches, and something obviously with space for his legs to go under. I have searched high and low to no avail and am reaching out to you to see if your readers might have any insight.

Editor: My first thought was a small coffee table. Perhaps something like the KarlJohan. Readers, what ideas do you have?

this one is adjustable from 15" to 23". you could just move out the drawer to make room for his legs.

Try checking out coffee tables & side tables.
The Ikea Lack side table is really cheap, but it's 17 3/4" high.
The Ikea Expedit coffee table is 15" high.

How about a breakfast in bed table?
How about the Ikea Lack table? It's 2" higher than you'd like, but will give room to grow. They also come in lots of colors, and at $7.99, it's a steal!

p.s. you could get a cute cushion for the chair to bump him up a few inches.
You could get any simple wood table and cut the legs down to the exact height you want
I third the Lack side table. I use it for my daughter's colouring table and it looks good and sleek. It would also be incredibly easy to cut the legs down to the height you want.
I have a rocker base for these chairs if you would like to buy it. ;) kjoyeldridge@gmail.com
Looks like this...remember just the base:

We have one of these too! You know, they were actually made to be CAR boosters seats. Not for safety reasons, but so kids could be boosted up to see out the windows!! Ekk!! Sorry, no help with the table - just thought I'd share :)
I was also going to say that you could get a thrift table and cut the wooden legs down to any height. My parents actually did this with an old table, and ended up with a really cool sofa table that way.
I'm another vote for cutting down the legs on a "real" table... I cut down my (small) last dining room table legs to act as a children's table, and it worked perfectly. It also had the "real furniture" look - because it WAS real furniture. Much better than cheapo "kid stuff."
Tables made for dollhouses and trains are 15", like this one at pottery barn kids:

That one is pricey, but they turn up second-hand regularly.
We use an Offi magazine table with ours.
We use an Offi Overlap table with ours.
i can't remember which online publication i saw this in, but it was a great photo of someones kids sitting in those chairs pulled up perfectly to the offi scando coffee table! Looked custom made to fit the table! I have the coffee table and was wondering where I can pick up some chairs like that for my little one?? it's honestly the perfect fit...
PucciLevy, you're probably talking about the Swiss Miss house tour - I love that picture: http://www.designspongeonline.com/2008/09/sneak-peek-swissmiss.html
