SF blogger, author, and mom-to-be Maggie Mason (Mighty Girl and Mighty Goods) always cracks us up. We love her posts about things she's overheard, and she's pointed us to interesting products like this humidifer, among other things.
In a Mighty Girl post earlier this week, she wrote about a piece she has up on AlphaMom. It's about changing her office into a nursery, and how she and her husband survived the experience by discovering Virtual Room Creator.
The program allows you to play around with a floor plan. As Maggie says, "The tool also gives you helpful safety ideas for furniture placement and methods for securing everything. Bryan and I dub these 'Don't Kill the Baby Tips.' The program, we must admit, is smarter than us." It also allows you to decorate (walls, trim, window treatments, bedding), and includes color wheels.
It might be a bit basic for a lot of ATers, but for the technically challenged like us, it sounds good. And hey, did we mention the Virtual Room Creator is free? Even better.
