We originally blogged Alyssa Ettinger Pottery here when we fell in love with her simple, beautiful handmade bowls. Recently Alyssa told us about her newest collection: Knitware coasters. We're such suckers for things like this because they're not only practical, they're lovely. And on a cold and overcast day like today, there's something about the knitware patterns that seems especially appealing, so warm and textural.
The coasters have cork backing and come in four patterns (small knit, large knit, small cable, large cable) and four colors (celery, vanilla, slate, unglazed). Since they're hand-thrown, they're unique (and, dare we say it, would make great gifts for that holiday we shall not name, but that doesn't seem so very far away anymore). They're sold in a set of 4 for $39. Available directly from Alyssa, here. Photos: Justin Cross
