Lucy's Girard-Inspired Nursery

My Room

Name: Lucy
Location: Financial District - New York, NY

Lucy's little corner is the happiest place in our apartment. In here, she can be creative and make as much mess as she'd like. Who am I kidding? She makes a mess anywhere and everywhere!

Our inspiration in decorating this area is Alexander Girard. It all started with this vintage Eames rocker covered in Girard fabric that I bought from eBay. Then came the La Fonda del Sol carpet tiles from Flor, pillows with his prints from Urban Outfitters, Girard plywood prints and, of course, I have to have his nativity set too!
Obsessed much? His colors are just so modern and saturated that it just makes me feel... alive and happy. Everything else in this area was bought to match the Girard spirit, even the toys!

Another thing that we love is this New York wooden toy box. It's very well made and can hold lots of toys. Oh and by the way, this area serves a dual purpose as it doubles as our guest "room" as well. It's tough living in a small Manhattan apartment. It was fine when it was just the two of us but when little Lucy came...it was chaos! Little girls come with lots of flouncy dresses and tons of pink stuff you know, but we'll not have it any other way!
