Name: Luke (3.5)
Location: Chicago, Illinois
When it was time to transition Luke from a nursery to a toddler bedroom, it was a no-brainer that we would go for a car themed bedroom. He definitely has a love for all things on wheels, especially cars. Besides the prevalent car theme around the room, there are also fun references to Star Wars and popular comic characters. We wanted the room to be a fun space where he would spend a lot of time there and not get bored. I got him to pick out the color pallet by asking him to tell me three colors he wanted to see in his room. He chose blue, yellow and black.
We were really excited to find that car bed on Amazon! We were a little hesitant to buy it as we've seen a few tacky looking car beds that are not of the best quality. But we ended up calling a local furniture store who carries the bed and found that it's good quality and looks even better in person. Luke is crazy about his car bed! We spend a lot on his bed reading stories and singing songs.
He loves that teepee as well; it’s a place for his ‘fluffy friends’ to sleep and play! I really like the size of this teepee, it’s very spacious from the inside. He and I can comfortably sit and play or have story time in there.
The dresser is the same one we used in his nursery. I do love pieces that can transition to different styles and rooms. As opposed to the warm and soft neutrals we had in the nursery, this room has cool tones and an industrial feel. We thought the wooden dresser would add a warm feel to the space!
The vintage car poster above the bed was a DIY - I bought the image from Shutterstock! I was able to print and frame it for a minimal cost. It’s definitely one of my favorite décor items in the space.
A car themed room is totally a win win with a toddler and Luke loves his room!
