[Laure finishes off this week of second round posts for ATLA's editor tryouts with a Venice ceramics store. Share your thoughts and opinions.]

After years of walking by and promising myself I would check it out, I finally stepped into Luna Garcia . Behold! Two showrooms stacked high with handcrafted dishes, vases, plates, platters, butter dishes and bowls of every conceivable color. A husband and wife team fill every order on-site, sign and date each piece. They've been making ceramics "with a human touch" at the same Venice location (a charming warehouse from the canal days) since 1985.

Check out their website: it includes catalog pages, an "ideas" slide show and an area for special orders.

What a beautiful store! Thanks.
Oh those wine mugs! like butter. that's so medieval-throw-back-modern. I want them. I love when I vacation and I find places like this and I can bring treasures home that I know nobody else can have... and to find a place like that in LA, c'est magnifique! thanks.
I'm what they traditionally call a "man's man." That being said, please don't tell anyone that, thanks to you, I've been captivated by butter dishes and versatile wine mugs that I can use for sorbet. I try to look away from these breathtaking images, but I can't. Thanks a lot, Laure, and great find.
I didn't even realize I wanted new wine cups until I read your post and saw that picture. Now all I want is new wine cups!
I have one of Luna's bowls, a black and white polka-dotted number that I love. It's beautifully crafted and super durable.
Thanks Laure. I want the platters, wine cups and a few serving bowls. I will have to make a trip soon.
What a great article! I've been a Luna Garcia customer and fan for 20 years! It's just the best! Completely unique and durable tableware. Shopping in the Venice store is great, but that website is my favorite way to shop.
thanks, Laure! A friend of mine spotted this... fantastic. It was great to meet you. What a terrific site to know about. all the best, cindy
Another great post done with wit and great photos. I will buy those wine timbles as soon as I can.
I love the square platters, the vases and Luna Garcia's whole color pallett. Nice find!
