Godzilla Vs. King Kong. There are no two figures who have affected interior design on a mass level more than Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. We like to think they articulate the two dominant styles within the American psyche. Which are you??
• Ralph = Heart, expansive, exuberant, warm, messy (from Europe)
• Calvin = Head, calm, contemplative, cool, minimal (From Asia)
(This will run for exactly one hour.)

How about a "no idea" choice? (Or maybe an "irrelevant" choice.)
personally, I'm more of the Missoni type....
Calvin can get too dran clinical at times and Ralph has this thing for cabbage roses I just don't get...
;0)
I voted for Klein, but only because I prefer his style to Lauren. I don't think I'd decorate my home with Klein unless these were my only two choices though.
I would like to see for this one and other designer comparisons, the gender break down of the voters.
I'm with you, Pixie!
I would like to live a Calvin Klein sort of life style, but I'm too much of a slob. I get the poor man's Ralph Lauren look by just leaving crap all over the house.
can I say neither?
ditto on the neither. blech.
God, for a design blog, the reaction surprises me.
Do y'all have to personally love a designer's style to give them credit for how much of a style imapct they have had?
Tough crowd.
I don't know the designer's styles, but I have learned to love negative space and Asian styling, so I'd have voted Calvin if I'd seen this earlier!
damn, missed another lunchtime survey.
Given the extreme choice, Klein. I grew up with the Brooks Bros/Paul Stuart/JPress look -- and its analogue in interior design -- and favor other interpretations to Lauren's.
By the way, P(2)'s point is well taken. Like them or not, each is the preeminent marketer (if not designer) of the particular (life) style he presents.
I really just can't believe how this turned out.
Really? There's such a huge consensus here in favor of MCM minimalism that the poll had to go strongly Calvin Klein.
Whats up with putting a one hour limit on the voting? - is it to deliberately exclude those in other time zones??
