Name: Lyla (3.5)
Location: Baltimore, MD
Division: Single Room
Room Size: 70 square feet
Tip for Living Small with Kids: One entire wall of this room is cubbies. We keep all the clothes organized in categories. It's easy to find them quickly and put them away easily. We also have lots of bins and wire baskets under benches and in corners for toys, socks, and shoes.
Biggest Design Challenge in this Room: Believe it or not, this room allows for more configs than most in our house. Not putting the bed in front of the window (especially in winter) because of the draft was always a challenge, although it was once there in summer. Not to mention our dog barks like crazy out there!
Favorite Thing About This Room: I love the way the multi-color striped wallpaper breaks up the pink. We looked for a while, but we settled on this because the various colors in it actually create a neutral palette for the room. Everything matches it!
Thanks for your entry Jennifer and good luck!
What's at stake? Bragging rights AND $1500 worth of gift certificates from Oeuf!

Ercol Bar Stool
love the head board, benchand pillows, light, and curtians!
Love the art on the walls!
I also love the art! Where did the "Love You" piece come from?
I like that it's not just a little kids' room. it will grow with the age of the child. :)
I love the welcoming feel of the room. A child would be at home in a space like this one. Love the pink wallpaper.
Thanks for the kind words. The "Love" wooden picture is from Zinc Home and Garden in Lambertville, NJ. I originally saw it on this site: http://www.rockettstgeorge.co.uk/ but it was much less at Zinc. You can call them to order it, it takes about three weeks. 609.397.5800. I'm pretty sure they'll ship it.
wonderful room! i love the artwork too! especially appreciate the more eclectic pieces like the "evelyn's beauty shop" sign...did you ge that in an antique shop? this room is original, full of character and just lots of fun!
Lovely!!
That is one crazy space.
Love this room. I am sure Lyla can enjoy every bit of this room. Great colors and imagination.
The Evelyn's Beauty Shoppe sign was original to a shop in the 50s I believe. I bought it at an antique shop in Lewes, DE while 8 months pregnant with Lyla. It was one of the first things that went up in her nursery.
